Ce chant apporte aujourd’hui un foisonnement d’images poétiques et une inventivité musicale qui nous semblent, à les explorer, inépuisables. Le duo est une formation instrumentale qui a permis a Charles Quimbert et Gaëlle Branthomme d’explorer sereinement les différentes qualités du chant traditionnel conjuguées aux possibilités du violoncelle. Il s’agissait pour eux de prendre le temps, de s’imprégner au plus près de cette matière sonore et textuelle pour arriver à la recréer à chaque représentation, à la modeler avec leurs langages musicaux, à la partager, à l’improviser.
